With Organic Soft Wheat flour type "00"
INGREDIENTS FOR THE STRUFFOLI
For the dought:140 g Organic Soft wheat flour type 00
1 Organic egg
1 spoon of sugar
1 spoon of sunflower seed oil
1 pinch of fine salt
Peel of one Organic orange
Peel of one Organic lemon
For the decoration:
100 gr of honey
30 gr of sugar
Sprinkles to taste
PROCEDURE
- In a bowl, crack the egg, add the sugar and a pinch of salt. Also grate the zest of half an orange and half a lemon into the bowl, then add the seed oil and anise liqueur.
- Mix with your hands or a spoon and gradually add the flour. Continue mixing the ingredients until the dough is solid.
- Transfer it to the floured work surface and continue working it until it is homogeneous and no longer sticks to your fingers.
- Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until it is about half an inch thick. Cut it into strips and, with each of them, form a strand, rolling them with your hands.
- Cut into small pieces about 1 centimeter in size. In a frying pan prepare the oil for frying, and when ready, pour in the struffoli and brown well, stirring. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Once all the struffoli have been fried, move on to the covering: in a saucepan, melt the honey with the sugar. Pour in the struffoli, stir and mix well.
- Arrange the struffoli on a plate and sprinkle with colored sprinkles, serve and enjoy.
